Colombo. Team India has entered the finals of Asia Cup 2023. In its second match of Super-4, the Indian team has defeated Sri Lanka by 41 runs. In this low-scoring match, India had scored 213 runs, in response to which the entire Sri Lankan team was reduced to 172 runs. However, despite the defeat, Dunith Vellalage (4 wickets and 42 runs not out), who performed well for the team, was chosen Man of the Match.

The Sri Lankan team, which came to chase the target of 214 runs set by India, did not have a good start. The first three batsmen of the team returned to the pavilion at a total of 25 runs. However, after this Charith Asalanka (22 runs) and Dhananjay de Silva (41 runs) tried to handle the innings. But wickets kept falling at regular intervals. At one time the team score was 99 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Then Dunith Vellalaghe (42 runs not out), who came out to bat, along with De Silva made a partnership of 63 runs for the seventh wicket. After this, no batsman could stay on the crease for long and the entire team was out on the score of 172 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets for India. Whereas Bumrah and Jadeja got two successes each. Hardik Pandya and Mohd. Siraj had one wicket each in his account.

Earlier, the Indian team had scored 213 runs after winning the toss and batting. Captain Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 53 runs. Apart from this, KL Rahul contributed 39 runs, Ishan Kishan contributed 33 runs, Akshar Patel contributed 26 runs and Shubman Gill contributed 19 runs. For Sri Lanka, Dunith Vellalag took five wickets, Charith Asalanka took four wickets and Mahish Tikshana took one wicket. 20-year-old youth Dunith Vellalaghe, who performed brilliantly with both ball and bat, was chosen man of the match.
