Asian Games: 10 meter air rifle men’s team gave India its first gold, made a world record
New Delhi. The Men’s 10m air rifle team won India’s first gold medal on the second day of the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. In the individual qualification round, the trio of Rudraksh Balasaheb Patil, Divyansh Singh Panwar and Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar achieved this feat by creating a world record.
India scored a total of 1893.7, which is 0.4 points more than the previous world record score set by China at the Baku World Championship last month. After this event, China also lost its position on the Asian Records and Games Records charts.
With this, all three Indian shooters Rudraksh Balasaheb Patil, Divyansh Singh Panwar and Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar have now qualified for the finals and will compete against five others for three individual podium places.
Rudraksh, who stood third in the qualification round, was the highest scorer for the team with 632.5 points. After him, Aishwarya stood fifth with 631.6 points. Whereas Divyansh was successful in making the cut due to having more inner 10 than Islam Satpayev of Kazakhstan. His final score was 629.6.
Apart from this, India has also won a medal in rowing on the second day of Asian Games 2023. The team of Jaswinder, Bhim, Puneet and Ashish captured the bronze medal. India has won a total of 7 medals so far, which includes one gold. India had won 5 medals on the first day of the Asian Games. India has so far won 1 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals.
