Asian Games 2023: India on the threshold of creating history in the medal table, China close to 300 medals

New Delhi. India is continuously increasing its medal count in the 19th Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China. India won 9 medals on the tenth day of Asian Games 2023. India won two gold, two silver and five bronze on Tuesday. India has won a total of 69 medals and is now on the verge of creating history. If India wins two more medals on Tuesday, it will be its best performance in an edition of the Asian Games. India’s current best performance is 70 medals, which it achieved in the Asian Games 2018 held in Jakarta. India had then won 16 gold, 23 silver and 31 bronze medals.

Arjun Singh and Sunil Singh Salam won India’s first medal on Tuesday in 1000 meter canoe double. He won bronze. Parul Chaudhary won gold in 5000 meter race. At the same time, Annu Rani won gold in the javelin throw event. India remains at fourth position in the medal table of Hangzhou Asian Games. India has so far won 15 gold, 26 silver and 28 bronze. Host China remains on top and has reached close to 300 medals. China has won 161 gold, 90 silver and 46 bronze.
