Asian Games: HS Prannoy created history, gave India a medal in badminton men’s singles after 41 years

New Delhi: Indian star badminton player HS Prannoy has achieved a big achievement in the Asian Games 2023. He has become the first Indian in the history of Asian Games to win a medal in badminton men’s singles event in the last 41 years. He has won the bronze medal in this event.

Prannoy performed brilliantly in this Asian Games and reached the semi-finals of badminton men’s singles. But here he had to face defeat at the hands of Li Shi Feng of China. He lost the first game closely but could not give any competition in the second game and lost the match.

Prannoy lost this semi-final match 16-21, 9-21. However, by reaching the semi-finals, he was already assured of the bronze medal. Prannoy has become the second badminton player in the history of Asian Games to have won a medal in men’s singles. Earlier, India’s Syed Modi had won a medal in this event. He won the bronze medal in the 1982 Asian Games.
