Hangzhou. India’s excellent performance is being seen in the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. India has so far won a total of 27 medals in the ongoing Asian Games in Hangzhou, which includes 7 gold, 9 silver and 11 bronze medals.
India won its seventh gold medal in the Asian Games on Friday. Another gold medal has come for India in shooting. The trio of Aishwarya, Swapnil and Akhil have won the gold medal in 50 meter rifle 3P (shooting). This is the 15th medal in shooting for India.
India’s ninth silver medal
India has got the ninth silver medal in the Asian Games. Indian shooters Palak Gulia, Isha Singh and Divya TS have won the silver medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol team event. This is the 14th medal in shooting so far in this season of the Asian Games. The total score of 18 year old Isha (579), Palak (577) and Divya TS (575) was 1731. China won the gold medal by scoring 1736 points, which is also an Asian Games record. Chinese Taipei got the bronze medal. Isha and Palak also reached the finals of the individual event by finishing fifth and eighth respectively. Divya could not make it to the final of eight shooters by finishing tenth. Isha has also won silver in the women’s 25 meter pistol event. Whereas, Isha, Manu Bhakar and Rhythm Sangwan won the gold medal in the team event.

The Indian football team was out of the Asian Games after losing 0-2 to Saudi Arabia in the pre-quarterfinals. For Saudi Arabia, forward Mohammad Khalil Maran scored two goals in the 51st and 57th minutes to end the campaign of the Sunil Chhetri-led Indian team in these games.
Preparation for gold in tennis
India can get gold medal in tennis. Ramkumar Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni have reached the finals of men’s doubles. With this the Indian pair will now compete for the gold medal. Ramkumar-Saket defeated the Korean pair 6-1, 6-7, 10-0 (super tie break) in the semi-finals.
India’s first bronze in horse riding
India got its 25th medal in horse riding in the Asian Games. Anush Aggarwal won bronze medal in dressage individual event. Anush Bhan has become the first Indian to win a medal in the Equestrian Dressage Individual event at the Asian Games.

The trio of Arjun Cheema, Sarabjot Singh and Shiv Narwal have won the gold medal in the 10 meter air pistol event. This is India’s sixth gold medal. India’s men’s 10 meter air pistol team won the gold medal in the Asian Games while two shooters from the country were successful in making it to the finals of the individual category. Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Singh Cheema and Shiv Narwal defeated the Chinese team in a very close match and won the top position and gave India its fourth gold medal in shooting. Indian shooters have so far won four gold, four silver and five bronze medals in the current games. The Indian trio scored a total of 1734 points in the qualification, which is one more than the Chinese team. China got silver while Vietnam (1730) got bronze medal. Sarabjot and Urjan also made it to the final of the eight shooters and are still in the race for an individual medal.
Silver medal to Roshibina Devi
Earlier, Roshibina Devi got silver medal in Wushu. Naorem Roshibina Devi won the silver medal in the Asian Games women’s 60kg Wushu Sanda final with a 0-2 defeat against local contender Wu Xiaowei. Roshibina had to struggle against defending champion Xiaowei and she gave the Chinese player a chance to make a good start. The judges declared Xiaowei the winner after two rounds. The Chinese player looked aggressive from the first round and scored points by knocking down Roshibina. While coming back, the Manipur player tried to take Xiaowei’s leg out of the boundary line but failed, due to which the Chinese player took a 1-0 lead. In the second round, the Chinese player scored a point by attacking Roshibina’s upper body and registered the victory. Roshibina won a bronze medal at the Jakarta Games in 2018.
