Asian Games: Indian hockey team defeated Japan 4-2

Hangzhou. The Indian men’s hockey team has defeated defending champion Japan 4-2 in the Pool A match of the Asian Games. With this victory, the Indian team has won all three of its Pool A matches so far and has moved towards the semi-finals.

In this match against Japan, India maintained its dominance by scoring a goal in the first quarter itself. Young striker Abhishek scored a goal with a reverse stick at the penalty corner. After winning the first quarter, the Indian team increased the pace further. Although Japan also showed speed and made many strikes, but the Indian goalkeeper made all the efforts useless. Meanwhile, in the 24th minute, Mandeep Singh scored another goal and increased India’s lead to 2-0. In this way, India continued to dominate in the second quarter also.

Team India’s attack continued in the third quarter also. The result was that Amit Rohidas scored a brilliant goal through a drag flick from the penalty corner awarded to the Indian team in the 34th minute. Even in the third quarter, the defending champion Japan team did not get any success in scoring a goal.

The last quarter of the game was also played by the Indian players. In the fourth quarter of the match, Indian player Abhishek scored his second and team’s fourth goal. This goal ensured India’s victory. Although the Japanese team did get two successes in the last moments of the game, it was not enough to win the match. Genki Mitani added to the Japanese team’s score by scoring goals in the 57th minute and Ryoshi Kato in the 60th minute.

Let us tell you that in the previous two matches of Pool-A, the Indian hockey team had defeated Uzbekistan 16-0 and Singapore 16-1.
