Asian Games: Indian men’s volleyball team tops Group C after defeating South Korea
New Delhi. The Indian men’s volleyball team defeated 2018 Asian Games silver medalist South Korea in a thrilling five-set match to top Group C. India top Pool C with two wins and four points.
India defeated Korea 3-2 (25-27, 29-27, 25-22, 20-25, 17-15) by five wickets in a match that lasted more than two hours.
India started their Asian Games campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Cambodia in the Pool C match at the CXC Gymnasium on Tuesday. India won this match 3-0 (25-14, 25-13, 25-19).
In the 19-team men’s event, India have been placed in Pool C along with three-time champions South Korea and Cambodia. The men’s competition teams are divided into six groups, with Group F consisting of four teams.
The top two teams from all groups will qualify for the next round and play cross-match against each other. The winners of these matches will further fight for the 1st to 6th ranks, while the rest will fight for the 7th to 12th ranks.
India has so far won only three medals in this discipline, which include one silver and two bronze.
