Asian Games: Indian team won silver in 4×400 meter mixed relay event

New Delhi. The Indian team won the silver medal in the 4×400 meter mixed relay event at the ongoing Asian Games on Monday. India was initially ranked third, but the Sri Lankan team was disqualified due to lane violation and the Indian team won the silver medal.

The Indian team of Muhammad Ajmal, Vithya Ramraj, Rajesh Ramesh and Subha Venkatesan won the silver medal with a timing of 3:14.34 seconds. Bahrain won the gold medal with a timing of 3:14.02 s, while Kazakhstan won the bronze medal with their season’s best time of 3:24.85 s.

Meanwhile, Indian athlete Ansi Sojan Edappilli won a silver medal in the women’s long jump. In his fifth attempt, he recorded his personal best of 6.63 m and achieved a podium finish. China’s Shiqi Xiong won the gold medal with a distance of 6.73 metres. Naga Yan of Hong Kong, China won the bronze medal with a distance of 6.50, which was also her personal best.

Earlier in the day, Parul Chaudhary and Preeti won silver and bronze medals respectively in the women’s 3000m steeplechase. Let us tell you that India has won seven medals so far. India has won 60 medals so far in the Asian Games, including 13 gold, 24 silver and 23 bronze medals.

Asian Games: Ansi Sojan Edappilli wins silver in women’s long jump

Indian athlete Ansi Sojan Edappilli won a silver medal in the women’s long jump at the ongoing Asian Games here on Monday. In his fifth attempt, he recorded his personal best of 6.63 m and achieved a podium finish. China’s Shiqi Xiong also broke her limits and achieved a personal best of 6.73 metres. The bronze medal was won by Hong Kong’s Nga Yan with a distance of 6.50, which was also her personal best.

Shaili Singh was another Indian athlete competing in the women’s long jump. But his efforts were not enough to bring home another medal for India. She finished fifth with an effort of 6.48 metres. Earlier in the day, Parul Chaudhary and Preeti won silver and bronze medals respectively in the women’s 3000m steeplechase.

Parul clocked a personal best of 9:27.63 seconds to finish on the podium behind Bahrain’s Winfried Mutil, who set an Asian Games record time of 9:18.28 seconds. On the other hand, Preeti won the bronze medal with her personal best timing of 9:43.32 seconds.
