Now India’s star boxer Nikhat Zareen has confirmed her place in the semi-finals by winning the quarter-final match of women’s 45 to 50 kg category. With this, now the medal in this event has also been confirmed. Nikhat Zareen’s quarter-final match with Jordan’s Hanan Nassar saw her one-sided performance.

With this victory, Nikhat has also secured the quota for the Olympic Games to be held in Paris in the year 2024. Nikhat Zareen looked very aggressive from the beginning in this quarter-final match. Nikhat won the first round in just 53 seconds. The Jordanian player looked completely helpless in front of Nikhat’s game. Nikhat finished the match in just 127 seconds and secured his place in the semi-finals.

India has so far won a total of 32 medals in the 19th Asian Games. This includes 8 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze medals. India has achieved maximum success so far in shooting and rowing events. Apart from this, the country has also got a medal in horse riding this time. On September 29, India’s first medal came in the form of a silver medal in tennis. Indian men’s doubles pair of Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan had to be content with the silver medal after losing in the final match.

Whereas in shooting, India won both gold and silver medals in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event. In this, Isha Palak won the gold by scoring 242.1, while Isha Singh won the silver medal by scoring 239.7.

Men’s badminton team also assured of medal

India’s men’s badminton team has won a medal in the Asian Games by making it to the semi-finals. The badminton team registered a one-sided 3-0 victory against Nepal in the quarter-final match. This will be the first time since the 1986 Asian Games that the Indian men’s badminton team will be successful in winning a medal in the Asian Games.
