India has achieved a historic achievement in badminton on Saturday. Indian pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty have won the gold medal in men’s doubles.

This pair defeated the South Korean pair in the final and won this medal. This is India’s first gold medal in men’s doubles in the Asian Games. Before this, India’s women’s kabaddi team also achieved a spectacular victory and won the gold medal for the country. The Indian team won the medal by defeating the Chinese Taipei pair 26-25 in the final.

Game over in 57 minutes

Chirag and Satwik did not face much trouble in defeating South Korea’s Choi Soegi and Kim Wonhoo. The pair won the match 21-18, 21-16. It took only 29 minutes for the Indian pair to win the first game but in the second game the South Korean pair gave a tough fight to India. But Chirag and Satvik were successful in winning this match. This match lasted for 57 minutes. This time it was expected from this pair that they would bring the gold medal. The reason for this was the performance of both of them this year. In the year 2023, Chirag and Satwik won the titles of Swiss Open, Badminton Asia Championship, Indonesia Open, Korea Open.

Kabaddi team’s glory

The Indian women’s Kabaddi team also had to work hard to win the gold medal. This victory also completed India’s 100 medals in these games. This is the third gold medal of the Indian women’s team in the Asian Games. India had earlier won the gold medal in 2010 and 2014. In 2018, this team lost to Iran and could win only silver. India had taken a lead of 14-9 at half time in this title match. But in the second half, Chinese Taipei made a comeback and gave competition to Team India. However, she missed by one point and could only get a silver medal.
