Job Description

Under the direction of the Senior Director and Medical Director, the Borough Coordinator is responsible for overseeing, planning, directing, and organizing the daily operations of the B-HEARD Teams and provides clinical and administrative support, consultation, and coverage for the B-HEARD Teams.
General tasks and responsibilities will include:

Provides clinical and administrative oversight of the B-HEARD Teams; leads the overall day-to-day operations, and is available for consultation, guidance and planning.
Provides direct supervision and mentorship to the B-HEARD Supervisors and other support staff.
Provides coverage for other Borough Coordinators if/when positions are vacant and/or colleagues are out; provides coverage for B-HEARD Supervisors and Social Work staff, as needed.
Works closely with the Sr. Project Manager to facilitate roll-outs/expansion.
Assists in planning, tracking, and updating expansion plan as changes require.
Collaborates closely with partner agencies including FDNY and NYPD.
Assists in developing and fostering relationships with Community Based Agencies.
Creates and maintains referral pathways.
Provides Quality Assurance; plans, organizes, directs and monitors quality management and performance improvement initiatives that indicate quality, safety and fiscal performance.
Assists with reports on operations and makes recommendations regarding policies or procedures to facilitate improved services, increased patient satisfaction and better patient outcomes.
Effectively communicates and administers policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with these policies, as well as applicable city, state and federal regulations.
Creates and maintains work schedules for the teams; ensures safe and adequate coverage.
Participates in the recruitment of staff associated with B-HEARD.
Monitors, reviews and evaluates the work and job performance of staff, provides feedback and recommends personnel actions to maintain high standards of clinical care.
Assists in data collection, analyzing and reporting: and other duties as assigned.
Provides on-call coverage during off-shift days/hours.
Performs special assignments as directed

Minimum Qualifications

1. Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Health Care Specialization, Social Work, Psychology or related field; and 2. Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital or regulatory agency administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of mental health delivery services; or 3. Possession of a valid license and current registration to practice in a mental health field issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

Department Preferences

EDUCATIONAL LEVEL:

Master’s Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Health Care Specialization, Social Work, Psychology, or related field

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

Three years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital or regulatory agency administration, with particular emphasis on development and evolution of mental health delivery services OR
Possession of a valid license and current registration to practice in a mental health field issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).

KNOWLEDGEABLE IN:

Project management
OMH regulations for behavioral health services
Knowledge of city systems

PREFERRED SKILLS:

Strong clinical and communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment required, as well as effective time management skills.
Licensed Social Worker, Psychologist or Mental Health Counselor preferred.
