Engineering Manager
Engineering Manager manages all engineering activities within a department including planning, supervising, designing, development, production, and testing. Engineering Manager implements and maintains overall engineering objectives and initiatives. Being an Engineering Manager, you confront and solve issues to improve efficiency. Engineering Manger oversees projects management process and delivers timelines to keep projects on schedule and within budget. Ensures quality control and safety policies are strictly observed. Assess new potential projects on new worksites. Engineer Manager builds and maintains relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.

Engineering Manager’s Your Primary Responsibilities

CAD Design

Perform design functions including but not limited to: 3D General Arrangement design, PFD’s, P&ID’s, and equipment specifications
Coordinate and direct projects making detailed plans to accomplish goals and directing the integration of technical activities
Direct, review, and approve product/project designs and changes
Advise and continuously train fellow staff in all aspects of design, engineering, project management, administrative responsibilities, project and industry knowledge, etc.
Routinely create look-ahead schedules for project team
Attend and advise on engineering capacities in production update meetings
Develop and implement engineering policies, standards and procedures
Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
Integrates designs from outside detailers, designers, and engineers and reviews them carefully for design conformance and system integration fit/function

Oversee External Resources

Assign, direct and evaluate work of out-of-house design and engineering resources
Provide oversight and assistance to outside engineering, design, and detailing firms.
Provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.
Manage external resources work quality and deliverable schedules to ensure project success and timeliness
Identify, interview, and evaluate out-of-house engineering and design resources; Onboard and train to Trident’s standards

Project Management & Estimating Support

Provide project management support as needed throughout the course of projects including site visits to ensure construction quality, provide guidance and field support
Assist estimating as-needed with sales models, material take-offs, attending client meetings, etc.
Consistently maintain a well-organized project folder with the latest up-to-date files stored in their proper location
Clearly and concisely communicate with the project management team all project related needs, concerns, and deadlines on a regular basis
Ensure design related tasks remain on schedule. Notify project team if items are falling behind schedule in adequate amount of time for action to be taken to get back on schedule.

Maintains timely, professional, and appropriate email and phone correspondence with co-workers, customers, vendors and sub-contractors.
Maintains an organized workspace and schedule.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
Pursues and/or maintains any professional licenses beneficial to the company.

Education and Experience:

Engineering degree required. Desirable study concentration in Mechanical, Structural, Civil or Electrical.
4+ years of successful design and modeling experience (In construction industry preferred)

Proficient in Autodesk Revit, Inventor and AutoCAD strongly preferred

Experienced in scheduling, field and shop interaction, quality control, and management
Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel, Outlook required. Bluebeam pdf software experience preferred.
