Job Description :
Overview
We are offering a $1000 HIRING BONUS after 90 days of employment for our Fire Door Inspector role. This is specialized work involved in the inspection of Fire Rated Doors per NFPA 80. Employees in this job serve as Fire Door Inspectors ensuring that inspected facilities are in compliance with the NFPA 80 standards for fire door inspections and in accordance with FDS’ Training Methods and Procedural Manual (TMP-001).
Role and Responsibilities

Inspection of fire-rated and smoke doors per NFPA 80.
Successfully complete FDS’ training for Fire Door Inspection as outlined in FDS’ TMP-001 manual and in accordance with FDS’ ISO 17020:2012 certification requirements.
Ensure completion of accurate reports for customer code compliance.
Maintain professional, timely communication with customers prior to and following projects.

Job Requirements

Successfully obtain Fire Door Inspector certification through IFDIA and/or DHI within 90 days of hire and before performing inspections independently.
Demonstrate proper use of FDS LSAS Application.
Demonstrate ability to read, follow and label Life Safety Plans (LSPs).
Demonstrate ability to follow inspection methods and procedures, recognizing and recording deficiencies.
Demonstrate knowledge and use of tools and maintenance and calibration requirements.
Experience in customer service and working with the public and clients.
Must be self-motivated and possess the ability to work independently and efficiently.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Professional appearance.
Knowledge of computer software (Word, Excel and Email).
100% travel required.
Most projects are indoors and in a climate controlled environment.

Additional Requirements

Must be 21 years of age.
Must have valid driver license.
Must receive required inoculations (flu/hepatitis or others as required).

Working extended hours is required as needed.
