Indian players performed brilliantly in China, Tejinder Pal won gold in shot put.
New Delhi: The superb performance of Indian players in the Asian Games being played in China continues on Sunday also. On this day Indian players won a lot of medals. India had high expectations from Tejinderpal Singh Toor in shotput. This player did not disappoint India and showed great performance and won the gold medal for the country.
This is India’s 13th gold medal in these games. Tejinder was lagging behind initially but then he made a comeback and won the gold medal. Toor won the gold medal with a throw of 20.36 meters. Before Tejinder, Avinash Sable won the gold medal for India in athletics in 3000 meter steeplechase. This medal was historic because India had never before won a gold medal in this event in the Asian Games. Avinash completed the race in 8:19:53 minutes and secured first place.
Indian athletes have also won three medals in 1500 meters. Harmilan Bains secured second place in the women’s 1500 meter race. He completed this race in 4:05.39 minutes and won the silver medal. The first place in this race went to Winfred Yawi of Bahrain. Marta Yota of the same country stood third. In the men’s category, Ajay Kumar Saroj won the silver medal, while Jinson Johnson won the bronze medal.
The first place went to Mohammad Algarani of Qatar. Toor has won the gold medal for the second time in the Asian Games. Before this, he was also successful in winning a medal in the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games. Mohammad Dauda of Saudi Arabia stood second. China’s Chin Liu Yang won the bronze medal by finishing third.
