Many famous cricketers of the country reached Varanasi, will be present in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the stadium.
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is reaching his parliamentary constituency Varanasi this afternoon. This is his 42nd visit to Banaras since 2014. PM will spend about 6 hours in Kashi. He will lay the foundation stone of Purvanchal’s first international cricket stadium which is going to be built on the theme of Mahadev here. Former Indian cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Dilip Vengsarkar and Gautam Gambhir will also be present in this program. All of them have reached Varanasi. Actually, PM Modi will participate in three different programs in his parliamentary constituency.
Regional President of BJP Kashi region Dilip Singh Patel said that he will land at Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi. From here, he will reach Ganjari village of Sewapuri assembly near Rajatalab in a helicopter and lay the foundation stone of the international cricket stadium to be built at a cost of Rs 451 crore. PM Modi will also address a huge public meeting here. After this he will reach Varanasi Police Line. From here, we will reach the playground of Sampoornanand Sanskrit University by road, where women will welcome PM Modi with flowers, conch shells and damru to celebrate the passing of the Nari Shakti Vandan Act from the Parliament.
The international stadium that is going to be built in Ganjari will be very unique. It is being made on the theme of items related to Lord Shiva. Huge tridents are being made outside the stadium, on which flood lights will be installed. The main building of the stadium is being built on the theme of Damru. The entrance of the stadium will be built on the lines of Belpatra. The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has spent Rs 121 crore on land acquisition for the construction of a cricket stadium in Varanasi. Apart from this, BCCI will spend Rs 330 crore on the construction of the stadium. It will have seating space for 30,000 spectators.
BCCI President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajeev Shukla and Secretary Jai Shah along with key officials will also be present at the foundation stone laying ceremony. This will be the third international cricket stadium in Uttar Pradesh after Kanpur and Lucknow. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reach ‘Rudraksh Convention Center’ by road from Sampurnanand University. Here he will participate in the concluding session of the MP Culture Festival. Along with this, the UP government will inaugurate 16 Atal residential schools built at a cost of Rs 1200 crore in 16 divisions.
