New Delhi. Indian cricket team fast bowler Mohammed Shami on Tuesday appeared before a Kolkata court in a domestic violence case filed by his ex-wife Hasin Jahan in 2018. The court has granted bail to Shami.
India’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami got bail on Tuesday (September 19) in the wife harassment case. Before the Asia Cup, the court had ordered Shami to get bail within 30 days in this case. Mohammed Shami, who is included in the Indian World Cup squad, appeared physically in the Alipore ACJM court in Kolkata on Tuesday and got bail. During this time his brother was also present.
Mohammed Shami appeared in court for the first time in the wife harassment case. Mohammed Shami appeared in the court on Tuesday (September 19) and applied for bail, the judge accepted the petition and granted bail. Mohammed Shami will be in action in the three-match ODI series against Australia from September 22. After that he will represent India in the World Cup. The upcoming ODI World Cup will be played from October 5 to November 19.
Mohammed Shami was part of the Indian team in the recently concluded Asia Cup 2023. India won the title by defeating Sri Lanka. The final was played between India and Sri Lanka on Sunday (17 September), after which the Indian team returned from Sri Lanka the next day and Mohammed Shami appeared in the court the next day.
The dispute between Mohammed Shami and his wife has been going on for many years.
In 2018, after Mohammed Shami returned from South Africa tour, he had a controversy with Haseen Jahan. This controversy became public when Haseen Jahan shared several photos and WhatsApp screenshots on her Facebook account and accused Shami of having illicit relations with girls. After this, Haseen Jahan had made many serious allegations against Shami like assault, rape, attempt to murder, domestic violence and match fixing. After this, both of them started living separately and the case started going on in the court.
