New Delhi. The Super 4 match of Asia Cup 2023 is being played between India and Pakistan in Colombo. In this match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bowl first. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma gave a good start to India. Shubman scored his 8th fifty of his ODI career.
Rohit Sharma also hit a line of sixes from the first over. He opened his account with a six and hit a six on Shaheen Afridi in the first over itself. Pakistan team made two big mistakes in the first 10 overs, the consequences of which were so severe that India completed 100 runs without any wicket in 13.2 overs.
Two blunders from Pakistan
Pakistan spoiled one of its reviews in the first five overs itself. Pakistani bowler Naseem Shah was bowling well in the beginning. He troubled Rohit Sharma in the fourth over of the innings. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma was beaten on one ball and Pakistan took a review on the request of wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan. The ball was far away from Rohit’s bat and the third umpire gave him not out.
After this, in the very next over of Naseem, Iftikhar Ahmed standing at slip did not touch Shubman Gill’s shot which could have been a brilliant catch. In this way, both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill survived and both scored quick half-centuries.
1⃣0⃣0⃣-run partnership!
