Job summary
Amazon is seeking a high-judgment, self-motivated, highly organized and creative digital communications professional to create data-based insights through analysis and research that inform the Communications’ Team social media activities – for audience, content and channel development. The successful candidate will lead the global social analytics and research work that helps to define the key audiences we communicate with, supports the creation of programs to best reach and engage those audiences and measures our success in increasing brand awareness and positive sentiment with social audiences. This role reports into the Global Head of Social Intelligence.
Key job responsibilities
Research: Frame and translate key business questions – audience, content and channel related – into research and analysis, defining the sets of data required for each project, often from scratch but also leveraging existing research from our partner teams.
Experiment: develop social experiments that help us to get smarter every day in how, where and with whom to communicate.
Measure: build a measurement framework and methodologies that go beyond current conversion and engagement metrics and provides insight into difficult to capture results, enabling us to measure changes in awareness and brand sentiment; and employ social listening tools to understand our audiences better.
Partner: work with internal teams and external partners to scale and enhance depth of learnings in a progressive way to solve problems together.
Interpret, translate, recommend action: interpret findings to develop strategic recommendations for audience, content and channel optimization for programs and ongoing communication that our global social teams run; including defining which types of content we produce for which audience.
Learn and Scale: work with internal teams to create social campaigns based on our research, analysis and experiments; counsel social and communications teams on utilizing social media both proactively and reactively in order to enhance their depth of social insights, including keeping them up to date with latest advancements in technology, platform trends and tools; create playbooks, toolkits and an experiment repository to scale those efforts.

Our team is truly global – among our team of 15 we currently have seven nationalities with a broad mix of experience levels and tenures. And our team works globally – we have processes in place that ensure the constant sharing of information across all teams, and an opportunity for each team to lead global programs. Has a proven track record of managing difficult analytical problems, moving fast with a bias for action to support reputational, brand, and business goals
Is experienced using audience insights to inform campaign strategy and planning, and uses the latest social media monitoring and analysis tools for digital tracking and measurement
Has worked across multiple markets, building tools and playbooks for local teams to support and facilitate their work
Thinks strategically and big – ensuring that activities deliver against core business objectives and articulate key messages
Has excellent written and verbal communication and collaboration skills, with an ability to communicate plans to audiences that do not have a technical data background
Has high judgment, particularly in narrow timeframes
Excels in managing complex, fast-moving, and unexpected communications challenges with tight deadlines and is able to deal with ambiguity
Innovates and comes up with new, peculiar, and effective ideas
Is self-driven and proactive – enjoys taking responsibility and making things happen – often to a tight deadline
Is tactically aware – knowledgeable about what’s going on in social media and digital communications, as well as the wider retail industry, to deliver maximum benefit for the brand
Is highly organized – able to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
Has an eagerness to learn, experiment, invent, and have an impact
Is familiar with international privacy, legal, and compliance requirements for data management within a marketing function
