
New Delhi. Virat Kohli scored a century in the third match of the Super-4 stage of Asia Cup 2023. He scored unbeaten 122 runs on 94 balls. This is his 5th century this year. Earlier, he had scored 113 and 166 not out in ODI against Sri Lanka on January 10, 2023 and January 15, 2023. He also scored 186 runs in the Test against Australia on 12 March and 121 runs against West Indies on 21 June.
Kohli has now scored 77 centuries in international cricket. He is the cricketer with the second highest number of centuries after Sachin Tendulkar (100). Kohli has also completed 14,000 runs while batting at number 3 in international cricket. He has scored 40 centuries while batting at number 3 in ODIs. Virat has scored 739 runs in 12 innings of 14 matches of Asia Cup at an average of 67.18 and strike rate of 100.95.
Virat is the batsman with the second highest number of centuries in the ODI format of the Asia Cup. He has scored 4 centuries in 14 matches. He has equaled Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara had scored 4 centuries in 24 matches. Sanath Jayasuriya holds the record for scoring most centuries in the ODI format of the Asia Cup. Jayasuriya had scored 6 centuries in 24 innings of 25 matches. At number three is Shoaib Malik, who scored 3 centuries.
